Greetings by the Kurdish Writers from South-West (Syrian) Kurdistan
Dear Mr Terry Carlbom, Secretary-General of the PEN International,
Dear
Mrs. Lucina Kathmann, Secretary of the PEN International,
Dear
Guests of the Annual Congress of the Kurdish PEN Center,
Dear
Dr. Zaradachet Hajo,
Ladies
and Gentlemen,
We, writers and poets writing in Kurdish and living in Binxet, that is, South-West Kurdistan, congratulate You with the Annual Congress of the Kurdish PEN Center and support Your efforts to advance our literature. It must be stressed that in addition to Your valuable contribution to our literary and cultural life, the member of the Kurdish PEN Center Mr. Mustafa Rechid, while visiting Syria and Binxet, discussed with us a possibility of our involvement in the activities of the Kurdish PEN Center. We are convinced that You embrace our objectives as Kurdish men and women of letter and thus view ourselves as a regional body of the Kurdish PEN Center in the part of our homeland.
On the behalf of the following writers and poets we congratulate You with Your Annual Congress: Deham Abdulfetah, Derweshe Derwesh, Dildare Midi, Bewar Ibrahim, Ferhade Ichmo, Ibrahim Yusif, Hafiz Abdulrehman, Fethella Huseyni, Pir Rustem, Awaz Kalo and Can Bapir from Halab (Aleppo).
Let us
express our hopes on Your success in bringing together Kurdish literary sections
around our common ideals.
With the
best wishes to all,
Kone Resh and Rezoye Ose,
Kamishli, 27th February, 2003.
