The
Kurdish PEN Centre and its Women Writers’ Committee received a painful
news about the death of Fatou Ndiaye Sow, a founding member or IPWWC and an active member of the
PEN International. Her devotion to the women’s
rights in general and the needs of women writers in particular were
especially appreciated by the writers from predominantly Muslim nations, who want to
put an end to the wrong-grounded policy of social discrimination. The Kurdish PEN Centre
will miss Fatou Ndiaye Sow as a charming woman and as a source
of inspiration to Kurdish women writers who fight for their rightful place in the Kurdish society and the acknowledgment of their cultural and
national rights worldwide. We send our condolences to
the family of Fatou Ndiaye Sow. Dr. Zaradachet Hajo, President, Kurdish PEN Centre Hîvî Berwarî, Women Writers’ Committee, Kurdish PEN Centre |
