Marwan Osman

(writing under the pen-name of Royarê Amedî)

translated by Dr. Zurab Aloian

What’s wrong with you, my heart?

(Kurdish: “Çi bi te hatiye dilo?”)

What’s wrong with you, my heart?

You ride

against my head.

You show up

at the funerals of surveillance.

What’s wrong with you, my heart?

You are bound up with meetings

         in the bright days,

Your climb the backs

of the grass

despite the cosmic advantages.

What’s wrong with you, my heart?

You just don’t burn

everything..
