If you are not the person the congress, please forward these documents to the person in your Centre who will be representing your Centre. If your Centre is not sending a delegate to this Congress, you may still comment and make suggestions on the issues raised in these documents which you may either request another delegate or one of the WiPC staff present to raise on your behalf.

Those of you who have attended previous Congresses will note that there will be only one half-day session for the WiPC this year rather than the full day sessions of previous years. This is to enable delegates to attend the Forum – The Role of the Word Within Journalism, hosted by Colombian PEN, International PEN and the Canadian Embassy, from 9-11.30 am on Thursday 18th September. See Programme for details.

Delegates will be asked to keep interventions at the WiPC session concise to enable us to cover all the topics. So as to keep to the schedule, we suggest that if you have amendments to the resolutions, please send them by email to Sara Whyatt as soon as possible prior to the Congress as this will help to keep the discussions brief.

There will be simultaneous translation in Spanish during this session.

Please do not hesitate to contact Tamsin Mitchell on issues relating to the Americas or myself should you have further questions on the WiPC session.
