Dear colleagues of UNICEF and IOM,

The International PEN Women Writers Committee has found out about a very difficult situation at the Altash refugee camp, near the Iraqi town of Al-Rumadi, where 194 Iranian Kurdish refugees are living.

These refugees lack basic facilities. It particularly worries us that young girls must to walk long distances to get water, which renders them vulnerable to many sorts of violence and exploitation.

Some of the people from this camp have been resettled, but unfortunately 194 of them remain, including 25 families with 100 children.

We ask you to intervene to help get these people speedily resettled.
