- His Majesty King Abdullah II
- King of the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan
- Amman,
-
- Your Majesty,
-
- On behalf of the Norooz
Foundation, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to
humanitarian assistance and decree for 651 Iranian refugees at No
Man’s Lands (Al-Karameh).
-
- Your kind decree was greatly
appreciated by the Iranian community worldwide especially by His Majesty
Reza Pahlavi II and Her Majesty Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi.
-
- Since May 28th, 2005,
all of the 651 Iranian Kurdish refugees have been interviewed and
resettled to New Zealand, Australia, UK, Ireland, Sweden and Canada.
-
- Unfortunately, 29 families or
194 people have been left behind the border. Half or 99 are children
under 12,. They are immediate relatives of the 651 which left Jordan.
They fled Al-Tash camp in Ramadi, Iraq and arrived at the border on
January 11th, 2005.
-
- I have visited them on four
occasions with the assistance of Interior Ministry and UNHCR. They are
living in very poor conditions, without food or water, begging truck
drivers for water in this hot weather.
-
- Majorities of these refugees
have immediate families in Sweden; we have already approach Sweden
government & their Migration Board, to consider interviewing these
families upon arriving to Al-Ruweished, if UNHCR made a request.
-
- As 43rd direct
descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we appreciate your Majesties
decree to permit these 29 families to enter your Jordan temporarily at
Al- Ruweished refugee camp, so they can be interview by UNHCR for
resettlement.
-
- Your Majesty, I would like to
express our sincere appreciation for all your humanitarian assistance to
Iranian refugees and request an audience to discuss this humanitarian
mater.
-
-
- With Respect & Sincere
gratitude,
-
-
- Bahman Maalizadeh
