- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al
Abdullah
- Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan
- Amman,
-
- Your Majesty,
-
- As playing the leading role in
the advancement of Jordanian society, especially in women and
children’s issues and as a caring mother, I would like
bring Your Majesty's attention to 99 children and 38 mothers
stranded between Jordan-Iraq border for over 2 years and 7 months.
-
- A total of 29 Iranian Kurdish
families fled Al-Tash camp in Ramadi, Iraq and arrived at the border on
January 11th, 2005 so they can be reunited with their
families in the third country via UNHCR.
-
- I have visited these families on
August 7th; accompanied by two Amman based foreign
correspondents. The
families are living in very poor condition, without food or clean water,
begging truck drivers for water in this hot weather.
-
- The majority of these refugees
have immediate families in Sweden. We have already approached the
Swedish government & it’s Migration Board, to consider
interviewing these families upon entering Jordan, if UNHCR made a
request.
-
- We are seeking Your Majesty's
assistance to grant these children and their parent’s permission to
enter Jordan on three month transit, so they can be interview by UNHCR
for reunification with their families in Europe.
-
- Your Majesty, I would like to
express our sincere appreciation for all your humanitarian assistance to
refugee children and would be grateful for an audience to discuss this
humanitarian matter.
-
-
- With Respect & Sincere
gratitude,
-
-
-
- Bahman Maalizadeh
- President & Founder
